Staff Accountant Jobs

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of an extensive property portfolio. Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze property-related expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to improve overall financial efficiency
• Maintain property-related general ledgers, reconcile accounts, and post journal entries
• Review and interpret lease agreements
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies
• Identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions where applicable
• Continuously evaluate and enhance accounting systems and processes, streamlining operations and increasing efficiency
• Assist in the coordination of external audits and provide necessary documentation
• Conduct financial analysis on property performance, Return on Investment (ROI), and profitability
• Process invoices, vendor payments, and tenant refunds
• Prepare detailed reports and present findings to senior management to support strategic decision-making
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for the property portfolio
• Perform budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to track financial performance
• Monitor accounts receivable, minimizing delinquencies and taking appropriate actions for collections
• Oversee rent collection processes
• Collaborate with property managers, ensuring accurate tracking and allocation of expenses

Qualifications:

• 3 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role within the real estate industry
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices, specifically related to property accounting
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or progress towards certification, preferred
