The Opportunity:
This individual will manage the development of existing and future Mattel licensed games with external developers/publishers. The individual is expected have expertise in the development of games on the mobile, console and PC platforms within the paid, free-to-play and subscription business models. Demonstrable experience in the design and execution of game design mechanics, live service support, UX/UI design is key as well as experience working with licensed IP. The ability to manage multiple projects, lead teams and strong communication and partner management skills are the keys to success in this role.
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Partner with Digital Gaming marketing team to ensure game design and features resonate with the target audience and differentiate the game from the competition.
- Requires ability to work cross-functionally to balance the needs of the product, game team, marketing and company and partner initiatives
- Coordinate with Mattel Legal teams to ensure all games meet defined standards for age ratings and privacy compliance
- Lead production on assigned projects across multiple brands
- Ensure game design and execution align with Mattel Brand guidelines and priorities.
- Responsible for the review and approval of all elements of game development, including GDD’s, development schedules, game assets, game builds, testing protocols and live service plans.
- Build strong working relationships with Mattel brand leaders and coordinate with publishers and Mattel Brand management for review and approval of in-game brand assets.
- Individual will be responsible for driving timely release of game titles and meeting growth targets across engagement and monetization KPIs
- Be on top of industry trends and the competitive landscape to continually evolve our thinking, strategy and product standards
What We’re Looking For:
- Demonstrates a passion and knowledge of the video game industry
- Experience managing cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
- Team builder and thought leader
- Exceptional critical thinking and analytical skills with consistent follow through
- Team player that is comfortable working with variety of disciplines from designers to business development
- Five+ years’ work experience in video game production with external or internal game studios
- Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.
- Excellent at Problem solving, tracking priorities, and multitasking within a fast-paced environment
- Strong project management skills
The annual base salary range for this position is between $117,000 and $173,000
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
