Job Description
KRON4, the Bay Area’s Local News Station, is looking for a dynamic and motivated Digital Producer to join the team behind the Bay Area’s top TV news site. The Digital Producer will work out of our San Francisco newsroom located on the Embarcadero. The Digital Producer is responsible for the day-to-day content on our digital efforts and will work closely with the Digital Executive Producer, Web Team, Assignment Desk and Broadcast Reporters/Producers. The position is responsible for getting the most accurate and up-to-date news of the day online in a timely manner and must thrive while working in a fast-paced, breaking news-driven environment.

This will be a regular, full-time, non-union, non-exempt position. Schedule can be flexible, buy may include evenings, early mornings and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Preparing, writing, copy-editing and posting news, sports, community, programming, and promotional content from television and other sources for the web site, mobile platforms, and social media sites under the KRON 4 brand
  • Working closely with news, programming, promotions, and sales departments
  • Capturing, encoding, and editing video for the web
  • Building special sections and other custom content for breaking news and other ongoing coverage efforts
  • Administering and moderating KRON 4 News social media outreaches including the Facebook fan page, the Twitter account, and comments on KRON4.com in accordance with established standards
  • Management reserves the discretion to add or modify job duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong interest in social media and its application to news coverage. Experience as a moderator or admin of a Facebook fan page, Twitter Account, or blog comment’s a major plus
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, attention to detail
  • Must be a self-starter, hard-worker, have a great attitude, be versatile and efficient
  • Familiarity with news writing and journalistic standards
  • Familiarity with CMS production and graphics programs such as Photoshop
  • Good news judgment
Compensation: $26.45/hr and up to commensurate with experience
