Job Description

Now is your chance to amplify your impact, working to solve the world’s most pressing challenges. We are hiring immediately for a Sr. Manager of Facilities to join our team in Palo Alto, CA.
In this role, you will be part of the Maxar Facilities leadership team and lead the Palo Alto facilities team in maintaining satellite manufacturing and office facilities in Palo Alto and San Jose. You will be responsible for day-to-day operations and maintenance of a large portfolio of complex facilities while collaborating with site leaders and business partners to address evolving space needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Maxar and play a key role in support of manufacturing operations building our next generation of satellites. The role will report to the Sr. Director of Facilities and Real Estate.
Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the Environmental Health and Safety team to ensure facilities are code compliant and technicians are trained and prepared to respond to emergencies
  • Maintain a robust preventive and corrective maintenance program through internal and external resources
  • Manage sub-contractors for architectural, mechanical, electrical, landscaping, and other 3rd party services
  • Partner with project teams to plan and execute facility projects; the FM will oversee the development of design blueprints and drawings, including office layouts and floor plans, as well as, provide preliminary cost estimates to management
  • Analyze occupancy/vacancy data for space planning and portfolio planning
  • Manage budget and forecasting for all maintenance and repairs
  • Respond to facility operation emergencies [power outage, thermal event, alarm activation, etc] and perform root cause analyses
  • Use data analysis to drive building systems strategy and drive energy efficiency
  • Build strategic relationships with the business unit leaders to align space planning activities to their business objectives and site-specific needs, analyze current process and procedures and implement process improvements as necessary
  • Manage building infrastructure systems and related assets
  • Manage critical data center infrastructure
Minimum Requirements:
  • Leadership and vendor management experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in facilities management
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and be willing and able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance
  • Must possess a thorough working knowledge of facilities infrastructure, building management systems, building codes, governing agency requirements, materials, and standards
  • Prior experience managing maintenance personnel such as HVAC Engineers, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and Technicians
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project management capabilities with proven successful experience
  • Demonstrates effective leadership and people management skills including performance management, career development and coaching
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of HVAC systems, electrical, and plumbing
  • Knowledge and use of facilities management software
  • Possesses strong social and communication skills, writing skills, negotiation skills, and problem-solving skills representative of Maxar company values
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office productivity tools such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrates a collaborative role with corporate partners (IT, Security, EHS, etc.) and leadership
  • Understand how to interpret blueprints and other facility planning tools
  • Ability to achieve objectives by working with cross-functional teams

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:
$125,000.00 - $209,000.00 annually.
Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
