Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer, Denied Party Screening

• Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
• 10+ years of professional or military experience
• Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
• Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions
• Experience with AWS technologies
• Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
• 5+ years of SQL experience
• Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
• Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
• Knowledge of data warehousing and data modeling

Amazon seeks an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join the Deny Party Screening (DPS) team. Our mission is to prevent denied parties from transacting with Amazon businesses, including AWS, customers, vendors, sellers, subsidiaries etc. We build automatic mechanisms to detect and prevent prohibited transactions with the denied parties using a diverse set of algorithms and machine learning techniques. We screen over half a billion events every day, integrate with Tier 1 systems and deal with unique scaling challenges. We are still Day 1 and have an exciting road map to build Machine Learning (ML) and Analytics powered detection and resolution systems to help scale Amazon for years to come.In this role you'll own everything from ad-hoc reporting to long term analytical and statistical projects that will affect the effectiveness of the DPS team.
