Business Intelligence Engineer I

Chewy’s award-winning Customer Service team is seeking a BI Engineer to join our Analytics team to generate insights at scale that power the best possible customer experience. You will work on a team of data professionals with a wide range of opportunities to grow your career in data analytics by performing analysis and building data pipelines and BI data products. This role is perfect for highly dedicated individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit that love the challenge of open-ended problems and are looking for a role that is highly technical, analytical, and business facing.
What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with business partners to provide ad hoc analytics and reporting that provide insights into business performance and decision-making.
• Use data to tell impactful stories and make fact-based recommendations to peers and senior-level audiences.
• Design and implement new data models and self-service dashboard reporting solutions.
• Author and maintain highly usable documentation to educate business and technical teams on BI data resources and metrics.
• Perform research and data mining across a variety of company data resources to identify opportunities to enhance the customer experience.

Requirements

• 1+ years of work experience in building self-serve BI solutions
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience 
• 1+ years of experience with data modeling
• Familiarity with statistical and data science concepts
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
• 1+ years of experience performing analysis with descriptive statistics
• Position may require travel up to 1-2x per year.
• 1+ years of experience with detailed knowledge of BI data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ELT, and reporting/analytic tools
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• 1+ years of experience with BI/visualization tools like Tableau/Power BI.

Bonus

• Experience with statistical models and building predictive models from scratch
• Experience with building NLP and sentiment analysis
• Experience in gathering requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting
• Experience building on AWS QuickSight, ElasticCache etc
