Join our world-class team today Position Specific Description Florida Power & Light Company is seeking a Senior Accountant at its corporate headquarters in Juno Beach. In this role you will be responsible for property accounting transactions related to General Plant (land and nuclear). You can expect to have an understanding of the Uniform System of Accounts as set forth in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and be able to apply and ensure compliance with the rules and regulations set for by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission as well as the Florida Public Service Commission and assist the supervisor in ensuring that the financial statements of the Company as it relates to property accounting are maintained and in compliance with GAAP and the regulatory agencies addressed above. You will also have a working knowledge of the Company's financial systems, including but not limited to, PowerPlan and SAP and ensure the continued integrity of the Company's financial statements as supported by these systems. You will interface with the business unit both in the role of accounting oversight and in optimizing accounting results and processes and therefore the ability to interact with and represent the Accounting department will be critical. Specific Responsibilities include:

Preparation and recording of monthly journal entries and related supporting schedules

Account reconciliations

Internal and External reports as well as interfacing with other business units to ensure complete and accurate information is recorded

Process annual FERC Fillings

Work with internal and external auditors

Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive workforce productivity

Review timely and accurate management reports and support external reporting requirements (e.g., 10K, 10Q, etc.) as required The ideal candidate will possess the following performance attributes and competencies:
