Summary: Possesses complete knowledge of all procedures related to the job. Assists in the overall food production and presentation, according to recipes and specifications. Hourly rate: $25-30/h
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention, performing all job duties in the safest possible manner, and immediately notifying the supervisor and completing an accident report if a personal accident does occur.
Possesses complete knowledge of all procedures related to the job.
Coordinates training of all team members in the proper performance of all job duties and thereafter ensures that all guests are treated in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.
Assists in the overall food production and presentation, according to recipes and specifications
Assists in training new team members.
Work grill, saut, & expediter stations.
Complete tasks using various cooking methods and techniques/ very good knife handling skills.
Utilize of the Five Mother Sauces.
Supervises line staff to ensure quality.
Works to ensure a clean and sanitary kitchen at all times.
Handles any guest’s complaints or problems in a prompt and courteous manner.
Working with front of the house supervisors to ensure proper communication to our back line supervisors.
Communicates any problems or concerns to the Sous Chef or Room Chef.
Ability to follow recipes and daily planning sheets.
Assist supervisor with putting daily order together when needed.
Help to orient new team members.
Assist less experienced cooks with understanding recipes and work sheets as necessary.
Assist with storeroom orders when necessary.
Responsible for the efficient operation of the kitchen line to which they are assigned.
Keeps work area clean.
Ensures thorough communication between shifts.
Remains up to date on all Departmental Policies and Procedures.
Understands that schedules are subject to change.
Performs other duties specified or assigned.
Sets high standards by complying with all departmental rules, policies, and procedures.
Ensures that all Team Members are treated in a fair and consistent manner.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Must possess outstanding interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with guests and team members.
Ability to work under pressure.
Knowledge of steak temperatures.
Very good knife handling skills.
Must have prior cooking experience as well as a proven track record demonstrating sound judgment and the ability to perform well under pressure.
Cooking experience from high end restaurant preferred.
Passion for high-quality ingredients
Must also possess a cooperative, helpful and friendly nature, and present a neat, clean, well groomed appearance.
Is responsible for the successful operation of the kitchen to which they are assigned.
Responsible for ensuring that all food is prepared in a timely manner.
Is always clean and neat, in proper uniform, including nametag and slip resistant shoes.
Reports to work on time; signs and swipes in properly.
Possesses complete knowledge of all procedures related to the job.
Ensures that all guests are treated in a prompt, professional and courteous manner.
Must be able to understand and communicate Material Safety Data Sheets to all team members.
Supports all departments with any requests or assistance.
Ability to communicate with Team members and guests.
Ability to be a TEAM player.
Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process.
Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays.
Physical and Mental Demands:
Regularly required to see, talk or hear; stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Able to interact with others while maintaining a positive and courteous demeanor under frequently fast paced work conditions.
