We manufacture products for brand name customers in both OEM, commercial and retail markets.

Reporting to the President, the Sourcing and Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for optimization and performance of all sourcing, procurement and freight network activities and will work closely with all functions including operations, finance, sales, and customer service. Based in Joliet, IL or York, SC.
Responsibilities

• Maintain Materials cost out funnel and deliver savings to P&L in timely fashion aligned to projection and budget.
• Integrate customer forecasts and company sales budgets into a cohesive internal forecast for materials.
• Research and qualify suppliers for sustainability and approve via documented processes.
• Develop/implement supply base management strategies both regionally and globally that lead to lowest total cost whilst ensuring quality, lead time and delivery to plants and customers.
• Work with legal counsel/Finance Head to ensure that all contracts relating to product procurement contain all details of the negotiation.
• Provide ownership and insight into the market for the commodities assigned, including industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing, lead-times, technology and manufacturing capability of company suppliers and suppliers in the market that best meet expectations and objectives.
• Ensure that materials are available when required to support manufacturing, and that procurement planning functions are effectively and efficiently managed.
• Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising procurement personnel, and implementing and developing procurement policies and procedures in line with ISO9001 as applicable.
• Maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements while improving turns year over year.
• Use data to develop and implement strategies to maximize efficiency of Raw Material and Finished Goods distribution networks working across FG businesses as appropriate. Lead ‘make vs buy’ analysis as required.
• Manage supplier performance through KPIs and implementation of supplier-sourcing strategies and tracking of purchases vs. commodity indices to ensure best in class pricing.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of supply chain and total cost of ownership principles required. Ability to work independently, seek guidance when required and drive projects in a matrix environment.
• Works well in environment of Trust, Entrepreneurial mindset, and people with a Bias for Action.
• High integrity and ethics; ensures confidentiality of all pricing strategies for the organization.
• ERP knowledge and experience preferred.
• High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy of materials.
• 10+ years of Demonstrated experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and freight network optimization.
• Ability to manage multiple projects working independently and on global teams.
• Solid negotiation skills.
• Ability to problem solve and lead others in problem-solving activities.
• Analytical, ability to review and interpret data and make recommendations and decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree
• Lean manufacturing skills desirable (e.g. KANBAN).
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, relationship building, and project management skills.
• Understanding of demand planning, materials management and quality assurance and systems in a production setting.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (including, but not limited to pivot tables, v-look ups, charts, and graphs).
• Strong leadership presence with a growth mindset.
• Experience leading and motivating diverse teams (various levels).
• Continuous improvement mindset.
