Omron Robotics and Safety Technologies, Inc.’s (ORT) is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Robot Platform Software team in Pleasanton, CA to develop and test software written in C++ using Object Oriented Programming. Working in a team very close to customers, you will be involved in all phases of development, from gathering requirements to releasing products.

Responsibilities:
- Business Involvement: analyzing requirements and getting them right, fast prototyping and supporting colleagues and customers with your technical expertise.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Robotics, Controls, or related technical field.
- Good mathematical and analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of common microprocessor interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, PCI and other local buses.
- Familiar with the embedded microprocessor design process: compilers, debuggers, IDE and source code control.
- Knowledge and competence in software design, C++ programming, code modularity, maintainability and testing.
- Experience with real-time operating systems.
- Minimum 2-3 years of software development experience in an environment with well-established development processes.
Bonus skills:
- Experience with robotics or motion control (trajectory generation, kinematics, motor control) is a plus.
- Experience implementing Functional Safety is a plus.
- Experience programming / interfacing with FPGA is a plus.
- Experience in industrial protocols such as EtherCAT, ProfiNet.

The annual salary range for this role is $105,000 - $135,000. However, base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. This position is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus program. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications for this role and their individual experience.
