About The Team

The Network Software Engineering (NSE) team is part of eBay’s Core Technology (CT) organization and it is responsible for managing 7500+ network switches, appliances, and firewalls that provide Network Access to the computing resources across eBay’s Network. This includes reflecting the status of the build workflow for all of the devices entering or leaving the network, as well as tracking telemetry for these devices. In addition this team provides software services and support to teams within The Networking and Critical Infrastructure Engineering department providing critical skills to the Networking and Operations teams. This team does important work that allows the company to track the inventory and operation of network devices across the company.

About The Role

This is a full-stack developer role for someone who is passionate about building applications that interact with infrastructure at scale. Your work will help eBay's teams in eBays Network and Critical Infrastructure Engineering area understand the workflow and status of the network devices across the company. The team utilizes many different technologies all the way from browser based to containerized infrastructure and everything in between. While traditional paths often separate Networking and Software development the ideal candidate possesses enough breadth to cross between domains comfortably.

You will have a solid engineering proficiency, proven track record of solving critical engineering problems. The candidate will be expected to have strong communication skills and to be capable of cross-group collaborations. In addition, you will be able to argue for and against specific technology choices in a way that honors all team members and respects the fast paced remote first environment the team operates in.

Job Requirements

• BS/BA in Computer Science or related field plus 10 years work experience or MS with 8 years of relevant experience

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range below.

$94,800 - $151,800

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
