Social Media Intern, Lifestyle

Bustle Digital Group is looking for a dynamic Social Media Intern to join our team for the spring semester. This person will work across BDG’s Lifestyle brands — Bustle, Elite Daily, The Zoe Report, and NYLON — to help with social media strategy and production, with a focus on driving traffic, engagement, and followers. There will also be opportunities to join social team meetings and pitch new social ideas.

The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, capable of juggling multiple tasks, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This intern should have familiarity with relevant social platforms and strong communication skills. Previous experience in digital media is preferred.

BDG’s 2023 Internship Program is an exciting opportunity to get hands-on experience at one of the fastest growing digital media companies today. Our immersive program gives each intern the chance to explore and develop their interests through executive mentorship, career training, professional development seminars and workshops, collaborative projects, off-site events and more.

This is a paid, part-time opportunity beginning September 11, 2023 and runs through December 15, 2023. Candidates should be available to work up to 28 hours per week, and will be given the choice to work either remotely or from BDG’s New York City HQ office near Madison Square Park, depending on your role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sourcing evergreen content for repromotion on social
• Assist with compiling and analyzing social analytics
• Assist with social strategy and creative development
• Attend BDG speaker series events organized by HR
• Assist with creating copy and content for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and more
• Assist with tracking industry-wide trends on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok

Requirements

• Able to work independently when necessary
• Willingness to alter workflow with a sense of urgency
• Have understanding of the different BDG Lifestyle brands’ voices and audiences
• Ability to write snappy, smart social copy
• Able to follow instructions and implement feedback
• Basic knowledge of video editing
• Capable of identifying trending topics/influencers
• Excellent organizational skills
• An eye for finding and creating visually engaging social imagery
• Interest in celebrity and entertainment news, fashion, beauty, music, sex and relationships, and astrology

$17 - $17 an hour
