About The Position


This key role leads the manufacturing site, through a team of functional managers and supervisors. The position ensures high levels of customer and employee satisfaction while implementing strategic initiatives and improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines. The General Manager directs and manages site with responsibility for the daily execution of operations, supply chain, quality, engineering, finance, human resources, and sales. VitalPath operates in a matrix organization with both direct reports and shared services located in the site.

She/he will create a customer focused culture of on respect, humility, quality, and a passion for continuous improvement.


Responsibilities


  • Introduces continuous improvement, new processes, technologies and/or systems to achieve cost reduction targets through collaboration with all plant employees. Champions Lean initiatives as a tool to drive change
  • Participates in the development of the annual budget and forecast
  • Designs strategy and sets goals for growth
  • Oversees equipment purchase, maintenance and calibration. Promote new technologies to be competitive, increase efficiencies as well as reduce safety risk
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates the site’s activities to meet revenue, profit and production goals. Provides clear direction and expectations, supervision and guidance
  • Coordinates cross-functional leaders to ensure customer expectations for quality and on-time production and delivery are met
  • Establishes key performance indicators, utilizes the data to make decisions and prepare reporting to stakeholders
  • Leads site operations by motivating and developing skills of managerial personnel to foster productivity, growth and high morale through a team environment
  • Full P&L responsibility and oversight with site level finance, HR, supply chain, quality, operations and facilities
  • A culture of excellence and respect
  • Improves employee safety and morale by creating
  • Lead and advise on resource needs to meet the annual plan and strategic initiatives
  • Develops and maintains a team that embraces employee engagement and creates
  • Oversees staffing, personnel development and training for all facility employees


Requirements


  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in progressively increasing positions of responsibility in operations or manufacturing; management roles in multiple manufacturing disciplines is preferred
  • Complex Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Reading Comprehension, Decision Making, Time Management, Communication
  • Computer skills, Microsoft Office
  • Required to stand for long periods of time
  • Lean experience with implementation experience in multiple environments preferred
  • Will lift up to 25 lbs on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs on a periodic basis
  • Data driven with strong attention to detail and ability to use data to achieve goals
  • Technical Bachelor's degree, Advanced Technical degree and/or MBA or equivalent combination of education/experience with a minimum of 3 years of manufacturing plant management
  • Required to sit at a desk on a computer for extended periods of time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior P&L Responsibility

  • Medical device manufacturing under ISO13485 preferred; FDA registered facility a plus
