Job Summary:
A server is responsible for greeting guests, taking orders, answering questions about the menu, beer, and food. A server sells Hop Valleys food and drinks, accepts payment, and communicates orders with the kitchen staff. Servers are expected to always maintain excellent customer service. Servers must maintain cleanliness of the restaurant by performing basic cleaning tasks, as directed by supervisor. Servers are responsible for preparing tables, stocking stations, running food, assisting co-workers with various needs, and rolling silverware. They must maintain a current knowledge of updated beer and menu items.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner.
- Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs.
- Ensure tables are enjoying their drinks and meals and take action to correct any problems.
- Knowledge of the menu and beer, with the ability to make insightful suggestions.
- Help with side work and cleaning tasks when necessary.
- Collect payments from tables.
- Take food and drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude.
- Enter orders into POS for communication to kitchen staff.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with bussers, cooks, bartenders, and other staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver orders in a timely manner.
- Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.
- Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced restaurant.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to carry food and drink platters
- Must be able to remain on feet during shift
- Must be able to walk the length of the restaurant per a guests needs at all times
