Job Title: Senior Vice President, Retail
Salary Range: $175,000 - $190,000
Bonus Target: 30% target based on divisional/company financial performance targets set annually

Position Objective
The SVP, Retail is responsible for providing strategic leadership and driving operational excellence across all retail locations and functions within their established geography or region. Their primary role is to develop and execute strategies that focus on employee engagement while driving sales, improving the customer experience, and maximizing profitability for the company.
Essential Functions
Develop and Execute Retail Strategies
- Optimize inventory management practices, ensuring proper stock levels, product assortment, and accurate tracking.
- Foster a customer-centric approach, enhancing the overall shopping experience and driving customer loyalty.
- Develop and implement comprehensive retail strategies aligned with the company's financial goals and objectives.
- Drive revenue growth by identifying market opportunities, optimizing store performance, and implementing effective marketing and merchandising strategies.
- Implement standardized processes, systems, and operational guidelines to maximize efficiency and productivity.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of our retail locations, ensuring compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
Team Leadership and Development
- Build and lead a high-performing retail team, providing coaching, mentorship, and guidance to store managers and staff.
- Analyze sales data, operational metrics, and financial reports to identify areas for improvement and take proactive actions.
- Manage budgets, control costs, and optimize profitability while ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Identify and nurture talent, providing growth opportunities and succession planning within the retail division.
- Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and customer service throughout the retail organization.
- Set key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and drive store performance.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local cannabis regulations, including licensing requirements, security protocols, and product safety standards.
- Implement and maintain robust inventory tracking, record-keeping, and reporting systems to meet compliance obligations.
- Stay informed about evolving regulations and industry best practices to proactively address any changes or updates.
Vendor Management and Supply Chain
- Participate in site selection, lease negotiations, and new store openings, ensuring successful expansion and market penetration.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to negotiate favorable terms and maintain cost-effective supply chain operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess market demand, introduce new products, and enhance customer offerings.
- Conduct market research, monitor industry trends, and evaluate competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities.
- Oversee the establishment of strong relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely and reliable product availability.
Education and Experience:
- Excellent people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization, cross-functionally, and with the Board.
- Experience working in the cannabis industry.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Available to travel as required for this role, up to 30% or more of the time within established region.
- Strong track record of success in a senior retail leadership role, including prior experience as VP, EVP, or similar role.
- Strong experience within consultative sales and the ability to prospect and manage senior-level relationships.
- 15+ years of strategic experience leading as a VP, EVP, or CCO, leading a business or division within a large company.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to design, build, lead, and scale high-performing retail teams.
