Job Description

Then you might be our new VP of Manufacturing for North America. VP of Manufacturing is responsible for all manufacturing related activities in North America and will partner with key leadership and stakeholders to develop and implement strategies, functions, and systems to facilitate the achievement of the company’s strategic directions and initiatives. The Head of Manufacturing reports directly to the Regional COO and actively participates in the regional leadership team and plays a key leadership role in the global community, with responsibilities for North America region. In addition, this position is responsible for promoting continuous improvement that will allow us to remain competitive in our market. This will be possible through meeting or exceeding the required KPI’s on safety, production, and profitability. Responsibilities: You will play a critical role in one of the fast-growing regions and one of Vestas’ most important markets globally with a turnover expected to exceed 4bn USD. You will head an organization currently with 500 growing to 1000 by mid-2024 while running and optimizing all manufacturing related activities efforts to secure the company’s market share and profitability. With respect to concrete success criteria’s the VP of Manufacturing for North America will be responsible for: Coordinated with Global Manufacturing, develop and implement the vision, direction, and goals for all existing and future North American manufacturing sites, internal and external. Owns planning and execution of the manufacturing plan within the region to meet customer commitments. Influence and partner with global and regional functional leaders to align organizational structure, design, processes and staffing to maximize organizational effectiveness and efficiencies Develop, align, and implement programs and initiatives to promote effective business unit strategies through best practices activities and solutions for the company in North America. Establishes internal and external relationships within the sites and the local communities where Vestas conducts business in the Americas Promote collaboration across the organization to identify needs and develop scalable solutions to best engage the North America market. Directs the activities of the regional NPI, process engineering and continuous improvement in close coordination with the global teams. Continuously optimize the operations to facilitate innovation across the full SQDC spectrum Builds organizational capability and hires with future bench development and succession in mind. Focuses on people development initiatives to continually build the capability of all manufacturing teams. Essential Functions: Solve problems by seeking out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions Empowers a collaborative and open working environment with comprehensive communication at all levels, driving transparency in communications within the region and globally. Ability to influence across organizational boundaries / with solid focus on working with & understanding different cultures Promote performance accountability within all levels, ensuring effective feedback is provided to employees to facilitate professional growth. Education, Training, and Skills Required: Bachelors’ degree in Engineering, Business or other related field or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education. Masters’ degree preferred. 10 years of progressive leadership experience in a global organization. Demonstrated responsibility for employee safety and capable managing high safety expectations and standards. Proven history and demonstrated ability to think strategically then translate strategic vision into tactical, actionable plans that result in delivered business results. Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of business units in a global organization. Professional judgment and high level of integrity. Ability to provide guidance and make decisions that balance management of risk with fulfilment of business goals Proven proficiency in continuous improvement, change management, including lean methods Budget and Finance acuity including P&L, Cash Flow, Business Cases, Cost Break Down of Product Competencies You are enthusiastic about the wind industry and about making the world a better place You thrive in a complex, multi-national matrix organization with motivated and aspirational colleagues You are great at solving complex problems: understand, link, and examine information to create value-add solutions and win-win-scenarios.
