Job Description

The purpose of the SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT (SVP), INVESTMENTS & DEVELOPMENT is to lead the Auro acquisitions, dispositions and asset management function and to oversee departmental team members including the VP, Investments and Development.


This position works closely with these other members – as well as key finance and operations senior managers – to accomplish the following:

  • To execute and manage acquisition and disposition processes;
  • To identify and evaluate potential acquisition and disposition opportunities in accordance with capital management and return parameters;
  • To assist CEO and CFO to source debt and equity capital to fund Auro's growth strategies.
  • To work with Auro's marketing team on appropriate materials to optimize the reputation and visibility of the company within the industry.
  • To set company capital and transaction strategy;
  • In the context of Auro’s asset management function, to oversee the monitoring of certain key valuation and performance metrics of Auro’s current hotel portfolio.
  • To represent Auro Hotels externally within the industry to raise its public profile and reputation as a highly professional owner/operator;

Essential Job Functions

The Associate shall lead the Auro Investments & Development function by setting, along with ownership, company investment and development strategy with regards to existing and prospective investments.

Such responsibilities shall include understanding the following:

  • The current lodging industry real estate investment and capital markets environment;
  • Strategic opportunities for Auro to achieve sensible growth consistent with ownership’s return parameters;
  • Conducting feasibility studies and prepare operational and financial analyses for single hotel asset and portfolio;
  • Interacting with key external parties to include capital partners, third party consultants, brokers, and other hotel real estate companies; and
  • Financial metrics of the company’s current investments; and
  • Interacting with lodging companies and consultants to get relevant market information and financial/statistical data.
  • Assisting in conducting fieldwork for market/property inspections and conducting market analysis;
  • Preparing financial presentations for senior management as required;
  • Analyzing operating statements and compare performance to business plan; monitor cost savings and efficiencies;
  • Prepare pitch books for prospective lenders and investors.
  • Analyzing short-term and long-term impacts of anticipated changes to business environment and/or hotel demand or expense levels on key financial metrics;
  • Assisting on lender reporting as required;
  • Providing general analytical support to development and investments team;
  • Prospective operating performance, cash flow and returns (both unlevered and levered) for real estate acquisition, disposition and development opportunities, to include but not be limited to the following:
