Job Description
Join the leader in entertainment innovation and help us design the future. At Dolby, science meets art, and high tech means more than computer code. As a member of the Dolby team, you’ll see and hear the results of your work everywhere, from movie theaters to smartphones. We continue to revolutionize how people create, deliver, and enjoy entertainment worldwide. To do that, we need the absolute best talent. We’re big enough to give you all the resources you need, and small enough so you can make a real difference and earn recognition for your work. We offer a collegial culture, challenging projects, and excellent compensation and benefits, not to mention a Flex Work approach that is truly flexible to support where, when, and how you do your best work.

The Marketing department creates passion and relevance for the "Dolby Difference" driving sell-in and sell-thru of Dolby enabled devices, services, content, and experiences across multiple constituents – partners, creators, consumers, and developers.

Dolby’s Social Team supports the growth of the business by inserting the brand into culture, driving education, awareness, and engagement at scale via inspiring content across platforms.

As the Senior Social Media & Influencer Specialist, you’ll help shape our global social channels and bring the brand to life online in a fun, creative and educational way. The ideal candidate for this role is a creative storyteller at heart – with the organizational skills to match. They should have an instinct for what’s on (and off) brand, ability to develop compelling copy in brand voice to drive social engagement, understands how data can inform a smart editorial and social strategy, be an expert at juggling multiple projects and have experience building brand affinity into legit online communities. Whether as a creator yourself or because you get this world – you will set the strategy for best in-class influencer content, owning end-to-end management of brand-creator relations while partnering cross-functionally with key stakeholders. You have a passion for and experience within the theatrical, film and streaming world; folks seek you out for your insights on “what to watch.” And bonus points if you love to game. This is a unique opportunity for someone who loves to be challenged intellectually, operates with flexibility, has a track record of executing social campaigns with legit ROI and has their finger on the pulse of what is happening in pop culture. Equally important, this human should lead with kindness to have an outsized impact on the future of social at Dolby.

Responsibilities

The role will be responsible for:

  • Ability to understand and manage the needs of multiple stakeholders within Dolby as well as external partners.
  • Staying up to date with cultural, community, media, and market trends to inform strategic and creative campaign development; cultivating strong relationships with platforms (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Threads, etc.), to gain access to emerging features, channels, and technologies.
  • Partner with creative team members to develop social-first content, maximizing for growth of engagement and followers.
  • Exceptional time-management, organization, and attention-to-detail skillsets.
  • Managing social media for Dolby —inserting social-first thinking into everything we do. Help create and maintain a content calendar for all social channels with key focuses on product education, brand marketing, product, and editorial stories.
  • Execute and continuously evolve a multi-platform strategy that grows Dolby’s brand affinity, engagement, reach, and audience to drive growth and engagement.
  • Oversee relationships with creators & influencers as well as social media platform creator networks - ensuring each activation is reflective of Dolby’s goals/messages.
  • Identifying real-time social moments that insert Dolby into culture to drive the brand conversation forward and foster community.
  • Comfortable occasionally serving as the “face of the brand” by creating content on social to jump on trends quickly (i.e., real-time Tik-Tok creation, etc.).
  • Ability to craft proactive and reactive communications for each platform and articulate the brand “voice” in a creative way.
  • Utilizing social tools like Sprout, Sprinklr or Brandwatch to help with management and metrics, as well as platform best practices and nuances.
  • Helping maintain/manage FAQ document – around products, announcements, and events.
  • Manage the Movies/TV (i.e., theatrical and streaming) part of the business in addition to other “passion point” areas.
  • Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and opportunity.
  • You will report to the Head of PR and social media and will be the key point of contact for executive stakeholders and the wider social team.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience contributing to creative, innovative, and social-first campaigns.
  • Based in Los Angeles or New York City metro area preferred.
  • Passion for film, TV/streaming, consumer technology and all things digital.
  • Experience with community management; specifically growing and maintaining an online community.
  • Nuanced understanding of the social media landscape, top platforms, and audience behaviors
  • Have a deep understanding of the creator landscape and how to authentically foster the right partnerships.
  • Early adopter when it comes to trends, platforms, and opportunities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including copywriting.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and planning skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • 5-7+ years’ experience managing social media content + influencer relations for consumer and entertainment brands (ideally with studio/streaming background).
  • Ability to execute social giveaways – and partner with legal stakeholders to ensure social rules and regulations are followed.
  • Possess a proven track record of building programs, driving creator growth and end-to-end management of brand-creator relations.
  • Experience in both organic and paid social media, including platforms, trends, and targeting approaches.
  • Proven ability to creatively problem-solve and achieve results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, often on short deadlines.
  • Experience using social tools (i.e., Sprout, Sprinklr, etc.) to publish and track performance.
  • Experience creating social content tailored per platform specs and best practices.
  • A deep understanding of the social ecosystem and how brands should participate in an authentic way.
  • Understands that social isn’t a 9-5 job and is available on occasion to create/post content and respond to our online community during off-hours/times, as well as be available on weekends for events as needed.
