We are passionate about designing gene circuits to improve the “intelligence” of cell and gene therapies in order to enhance their therapeutic effectiveness against a broad range of diseases that conventional medicines are unable to address.
At Senti, we find purpose and meaning knowing that our efforts have the potential to improve the lives of patients and their families with more effective and safer treatment options. With science as our foundation and empathy as our key guiding principle, colleagues become friends, managers become mentors, and with time, cancer becomes history.

Summary:
Senior Scientist will be part of the Preclinical Research group that is devoted to characterizing drug candidates from the Lead Identification to IND-enabling stages. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth experience in the drug discovery process, especially in the areas of cellular therapies, immunotherapy, and oncology. He/she will be a hands-on technical team lead who has strong communication skills, is able to work in a matrixed and fast paced environment, possesses strong problem-solving abilities, is eager to train research associates, and shows a deep commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct IND-enabling studies and write reports
  • Carry out a wide range of in vitro and ex vivo studies, including basic cellular functional assays such as activation, proliferation, differentiation, and cytotoxicity
  • Apply research techniques such as multicolor flow cytometry, ELISA, PCR, and IHC
  • Ensure that all studies are performed in timely manner with appropriate scientific rigor and appropriate documentation
  • Collaborate with In Vivo Pharmacology to design and interpret results from in vivo studies
  • Analyze, interpret, and present data to key stake holders
  • Analyze experimental data using software such as FlowJo and GraphPad Prism
  • Act as a technical expert in his/her field and provide guidance for internal and external collaborators

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in techniques such as flow cytometry, ELISA, PCR, IHC, and multiplexed assays (e.g., Luminex, MSD)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills including the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to effectively collaborate as part of cross-functional teams and with research partners
  • Proven track record of scientific accomplishments demonstrated by publications in peer reviewed journals
  • Demonstrated openness to ideas and feedback from team members
  • PhD scientist with a minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral training in academia or industry
  • A strong entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to be hands on
  • Organized, self-motivated, able to multitask and deliver results with high attention to detail to help drive projects forward in a timely manner.
  • Familiarity with cell therapies, especially CAR-T and CAR NK
  • Demonstrated creativity in problem solving
  • Excellent critical thinking and scientific/strategic acumen, with a demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and clearly communicate (orally and in writing) complex biomarker data

Salary and Benefits:

  • Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual target bonus and equity
  • Empathetic, supportive and collaborative colleagues and work environments
  • The base salary range for this role is $159,000-173,000. Starting pay is determined by multiple job-related factors including a candidate’s skills, education and experience level, benchmark, and internal parity
  • Significant growth opportunity as the company expands
