POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will be in the Taneja College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Research will involve working in the cardiovascular system and skeletal muscle with research related to stem cell and muscle regeneration.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs:

• Standardized experimental protocols and in vivo procedures. Assist in animal

handling, breeding, tissue collection and animal protocol and inspection.

• In vivo and ex vivo and in vitro experiments using different systems or models for research. Echocardiography, ECG, Langendorff, wheel running, skeletal muscle and heart measurements.
• Animal surgery, mouse models in heart diseases.

Manages:

• All lab records, communicating efficiently with the PIs and other lab members.
• Ordering of surgical supplies and experimental reagents.
• Laboratory animals including specialized mice colonies to ensure accurate genotyping

• Histology, immunochemistry and imaging with microscopes.
• Serves as a resource for most of the techniques utilized in the laboratory.

Data analysis, provides written reports to supervisor and research findings for publications.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a natural, physical or medical science with 5 years of experience.
PREFERRED:
Experience in stem cell research, heart, or muscle research.
