Aurex Group has partnered with a global Energy company looking for a Planning & Optimization Engineer for their facility in Ohio.


This position reports to the overall Plant Manager.


Overview:

  • Assist in the development and preparation of annual production budgets, working closely with finance and operations teams.
  • Analyze feedstock inventory levels and consumption rates to determine optimal ordering quantities and schedules.
  • Coordinate with the origination team to optimize feedstock scheduling, ensuring timely delivery and availability of raw materials for production.
  • Work with logistics providers and rail carriers to optimize transportation routes, minimize costs, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with origination team to optimize stock replenishment processes and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Work closely with the warehouse team to manage inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet production requirements while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Monitor and analyze production data including actual vs. expected yields, identifying trends and potential bottlenecks, and proactively propose adjustments to optimize production efficiency.
  • Develop the monthly production plan and weekly operating plans, taking into account production targets, equipment availability, and resource constraints.
  • Work closely with feedstock and hydrocarbon processing superintendents to understand planned and unplanned outages and factor them into production plans
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and engineering, to gather information and align production plans with plant capabilities and priorities.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and logistics of railcar shipments, ensuring efficient and timely transportation of finished products while ensuring that physical tank inventories are maintained between established minimum and maximum levels.



Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using planning and optimization software tools.
  • Strong understanding of production planning methodologies and inventory management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with feedstock procurement and scheduling processes.
  • Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, and logistics, preferably in the manufacturing or refining industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
