Job Description

  • Ensure assets purchased under the Advance accounts are capitalization is processed upon completion of the project or on time and related accounting entries are passed.
  • Prepare and maintain procedure for accruals, creation of provisions, amortizations, prepaid accounting, prior period accounting etc.
  • Write-off/Disposal of bank assets, perform site survey to inspect assets for disposal and ensure correct books’ values, obtain Accounting Department disinvestment approvals, witness the disinvestment sale opening meeting and insure correct reflection on the oracle system database.
  • Assist department manager in ensuring that all cases of accounting have been properly identifies and accounted for and there is no understatement or overstatement of expenses.
  • Validation of all Miscellaneous application transactions
  • Ensure proper accounting in case of retired, disposed and sold assets or changes in estimated useful life residual value.
  • To ensure proper accounting and control of fixed asset on the Department.
  • Ensure that all FAMS system balances tally with GL balances on daily basis and reconcile the FAMS with the physical inventory.
  • Prepare relevant adjustment entries, in case of retired assets or change in estimated useful life/ residual value.
  • Assist department manager in Controlling & Monitoring the FAMS requirements (ORACLE module for managing fixed assets) and updating the FAMS database on timely basis.
  • Develop a Risk Control Matrix (RCM) and Self- Assessment tools along with periodical review plan to assess the compliance of internal control for the various department under FG
  • Assist department manager in the accounting process including but not limited to accrual accounting, provisioning, amortization, prepaid accounting etc.
  • Prepare reports and schedules to comply with IAS, IFRS and GAAP requirements with respect to fixed assets.
  • Assist department manager to identify various efficiency improvements and automation possibilities and coordinate with ISG to implement the automation changes.
  • Conduct Bank wide Assets physical inventory process & reconcile with FA Oracle Database. He should report discrepancies to the Department manager and correct anomalies accordingly.
  • Monitor the FAMS stickers and ensure no duplications or mistakes.
  • Assist department manager in preparation of reports, reconciliation summaries and schedules.
  • Responsible to ensure that adequate procedures are in place to ensure that Financial Statements are free from material errors/ misstatements
  • Responsible to cultivate a culture of strong financial control and compliance throughout the department through assessment, documentation, testing, and monitoring of controls and processes.
  • Checking and signing of Fixed Assets payments and ensure that they are supported by proper documentation, check accuracy of figures, approved by authorized persons, within budget and Policies.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, directing and overseeing the auditing and compliance program specifically for FG and issuing timely reports to the management on observations and recommendations
  • Capitalize cost related to fixed assets on timely basis and to assist department manager to set up controls for the same.
Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Practical experience of fixed asset register management
  • Knowledge and experience of financial accounting
  • 4-6 years of practical experience in similar profile
  • Practical experience of handling audits
  • Knowledge of Procure to Pay (P2P) system
  • Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles e.g. IFRS, IAS, SOCPA)
  • Knowledge of various accounting interface
  • Experience of leading team
  • Understanding of banking environment and banking products
  • Knowledge of ERP (Oracle)
