Job Description
Valve is seeking a senior experienced office management professional to join our Facilities and Office services team. At Valve, our primary goal is to improve the lives and the efficiency of our coworkers. Facilities and Office services ensure that the company’s day-to-day operations run at the highest possible level. Valve is a multi-faceted company with a multi-floor footprint, high touch office services and amenities that evolve over time. Furthermore, facilities and office services receive the countless shipments, pieces of mail, deliveries, guests, interview candidates, customers, fans, and misdelivered pizzas that show up to the office every day. From first impressions of a newly hired person to delicate boxes of hardware prototypes, when it comes through the door, the Senior Office Manager helps make sure it ends up in the best possible place in the best possible state.

Key Responsibilities Include
Manage onsite office operations and shipping services:
  • Work in concert with teammates to create and maintain a fun, clean, safe, and fully functioning office environment for staff
  • Manage tracking and coordination of the shipping program alongside Facilities
  • Work alongside Facilities to review and track invoices related to the building and associated services
  • Cajole and recruit your coworkers to be Floor Wardens and train for emergency preparedness
  • Bring your creativity and a unique touch to our office programs, i.e., office supplies, first aid, etc.
Front Desk Operations, Travel, And Employee And Fan Happiness
  • Provide our fans with memorable interactions in response to requests and gifts
  • Pitch in with our in-house kitchen in putting on company lunches and our frequent employee appreciation events
  • Be the helping and capable hands for interviewee travel and new hire relocations
  • Support our events team for all our domestic and far-flung global events
  • Help our interview candidates feel comfortable and prepared for their on-site loop
Qualifications/Skills
  • Emotionally intelligent with the ability to influence, negotiate and build collaborative relationships across the company
  • Experience innovating and driving improvements to our existing programs
  • Track record of encouraging speed, flexibility, and frugality in the face of a constantly evolving environment
  • Detail-orientated with business and finance acuity
  • Professionally demonstrated entrepreneurial aptitude with the ability to establish and achieve goals
  • Proven analytical skills, while having the capacity to work in an ambiguous and risk-tolerant environment
