In this role the Office Team Lead will be directly overseeing 5 administrative departments in a divisional office. These departments include: Administration, Inventory Accounting, Accounting, Benefits and Accounts Payable. You will also provide support and general assistance to operations, warehouse and IT departments. The ideal candidate will be working in an office environment and will manage different disciplines throughout the office. The objective of this role is to provide adequate support to your employees, keep the team engaged and prioritize tasks.

Position Type: Full-Time
Starting Salary: $77,500.00 per year

Work Location: Valparaiso, IN
This role is eligible to participate in ALDI’s Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 1 day per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday only); work in-office at least 4 days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Identifies training and development opportunities that will assist their direct reports in achieving enhanced performance.
  • Works with all divisional and national teams and departments as appropriate to communicate relevant information.
  • Assesses and discusses appropriate staffing levels for the divisional office.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Communicates with other divisional personnel and outside partners and parties as appropriate.
  • Oversees the administration of general office tasks.
  • Approves divisional expenditures within established guidelines.
  • Oversees the training, development and performance of staff to retain a motivated, professional workforce.
  • Monitors and manages controllable expenses by working cooperatively with the District Manager Division to manage staffing needs to control payroll expense.
  • Manages the physical, on-site, requirements of tangible asset management.
  • Ensures proper management of divisional office activities.
  • Manages the installation, implementation, updating and proper functioning of IT hardware or software.
  • Manages divisional compliance with established company policies and procedures, as well as with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of their team, escalating issues to the appropriate level of support and/or leadership when necessary.
  • Establishes and communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to their direct reports to assure mutual understanding and desired results.
  • Manages the recruitment, selection, training, development, and performance of staff to retain a motivated, professional workforce.
  • Ensures direct reports complete assigned responsibilities in a timely and effective manner to provide the highest level of customer service for the business.
  • Provides input to their direct leader on hiring for positions reporting to them.
  • Informs management of major team milestones, developments, and concerns.
  • Understands the overarching company strategy, as well as communicates and models the core values of the organization, to create a sense of teamwork and membership among employees.
  • Supervises and monitors the work performance of division office staff.
  • Manages product pricing, quality, scanning and signage, as well as product recalls and receiving claims.

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in Management required.
  • Associate's Degree in Business or a related field preferred.
  • Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
  • High School Diploma / GED required.
  • Prior experience in an office management role required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse.
  • Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another.
  • Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs.
  • Work may be performed in an office, remote office or a combination of both where a computer and office equipment may be used as needed to perform duties.

Travel:

  • Minimal travel required as needed for job related duties such as training, project work and administrative tasks.
