Job Description

Due to continued growth, our Nuclear Service Group is seeking a Senior PRA Engineer for our Kennesaw, GA office or remote location. This position can be PT, Full-Time, or LTLB.


Responsibilities (including but are not limited to)

  • Products/Deliverables – Serve as PRA SME for initial unit contact to Management, PMs, and other internal constituents and together with the PMs and lead engineers, define the scope of work. Maintains responsibility for the unit’s PRA quality.
  • Leadership and Staff Development – Identify and promote opportunities for PRA and related risk-informed application projects. Identify and promote training opportunities (ex: owner’s groups, professional society). Demonstrate technical leadership, providing resolution to technical issues.
  • Business Development – Support proposal preparation with PRA input for scope and budget to PMs. Develop professional relationships with client counterparts. Assist in marketing the unit’s PRA expertise/abilities to clients.
  • This individual will support several major utility clients of our organization and will serve as a consultant on various projects involving PRA (Level 1 PRA, Level 2 PRA, and External Events) related risk-informed applications, with focus on Level 2 PRA. ENERCON Services, Inc. is a leading provider of PRA and risk-informed services with ongoing projects for multiple utilities and power plants.

Required Qualifications / skills

  • Excellent verbal communication skills; Comfortable and effective communicator with the team, clients, management, etc., choosing the right mode of communication for the situation and relaying the right message.
  • Demonstrated experience with Level 1 PRA tasks (e.g., initiating events analysis, accident sequence analysis, success criteria, systems analysis, human reliability analysis, data analysis, quantification, etc.), Level 2 PRA tasks (e.g., plant damage state analysis, containment event tree analysis, MAAP analysis, containment release binning, LERF analysis, containment safeguards system analysis, etc.), and External Events (e.g., Seismic PRA, High Winds PRA, and other external events, etc.).
  • Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving and general scientific evaluation skills.
  • B.S. in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university
  • Experience working in a Nuclear Power Plant environment and familiarity with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) governing codes.
  • Minimum 7 years of nuclear power plant PRA experience, including familiarity with current risk-informed regulatory applications.

Employment Requirements

  • Required to travel up to 25% of the time to client sites for project and/or marketing meetings. Activities at client sites may require pre-job briefs and walkdowns at the site, including occasional climbing.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings; ENERCON and client-specific background checks; and an annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies
