Medtronic is driving a functional transformation focused on improving business outcomes. A key strategic focus area is driving Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Sales and Operation Execution (S&OE), and Standard Operating Mechanisms. The Finance Product Manager will be responsible for driving the financial processes within IBP and S&OE. This role reports to the Sr. Finance Director, IBP.

As the Sr. Finance Program Manager, you will participate in developing the product vision and keep it on-track to deliver global solutions that encompass people, process, behaviors, and technology. Your primary customers will be the Global Finance teams. You will work closely with senior leadership and foster extensive cross-functional engagement with GOSC and Sales and Marketing. You will collaborate with the technology teams to manage risks and execute complex development programs.

The Sr. Finance Program Manager will drive change across the organization, requiring you to be adept at change management and capable of working and leading in cross functional teams. Flexibility, adaptability, and comfort with ambiguity are critical to your success. You demonstrate the ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization and build trust across multiple stakeholder groups. You are passionate about working with multiple businesses and geographies, using a hands-on approach to solve process and system issues. Self-confident and tenacious, you are capable of driving results under pressure.

Location: This role can be based remotely anywhere within the U.S.


A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Support GOSC and Sales and Marketing to define global business processes that enable better financial forecasts.
  • Develop the global design and business requirements, support the development and implementation of enhancements, and define and advocate for the end user experience.
  • Establish reporting standards and guidelines; develop new reports and work with the RLMs and OU FP&A leads to gather requirements.
  • Own the vision and strategy for current and future tools (Anaplan, Power BI) supporting the Finance role in IBP.
    • Develop the global design and business requirements, support the development and implementation of enhancements, and define and advocate for the end user experience.
    • Establish reporting standards and guidelines; develop new reports and work with the RLMs and OU FP&A leads to gather requirements.
  • Drive efficiencies across the Global Finance teams.
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Finance Director to:
    • Drive efficiencies across the Global Finance teams.
    • Support GOSC and Sales and Marketing to define global business processes that enable better financial forecasts.
    • Define and deploy global processes to support IBP and S&OE.
    • Work with OU and Regional leadership to incorporate best practices within IBP Finance.
  • Align processes and technology to enable better financial forecasting through the IBP process.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of work experience in Finance/and or Accounting (Or Advanced Degree with 5+ years)

Nice to Have
  • Solid grounding in financial metrics, balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow analysis.
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or advanced degree with 8+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to use data and metrics for making assumptions and decisions.
  • Exposure to and working knowledge of financial systems.
  • Ability to develop and leverage written and verbal communications/education materials for technical and non-technical stakeholders to be used in driving behavior change.
  • Ability to integrate and interpret disparate sources of data using broad range of analytical data tools.
  • Strong business acumen with understanding of key drivers of success.
  • Analytical proficiency to derive insights from large and complex sets of business data.
  • Communication skills — able to present and articulate clearly.
  • Good understanding and working experience in technology development best practices (such as, Agile, etc.).
