Summary:
  • Employee is responsible for assembling printed circuit board assemblies with minimum Supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsibilities include hand soldering of components, performing touch-up.
  • Follow Job routing and perform tasks using Schematics, Drawings.
  • Inspect components and complete assemblies for accuracy and conformity.
  • Preparation and insertion of components by hand or by component locator.
  • Identify component type, polarity, and value.
Minimum Qualifications :
  • High School Graduate
  • Two (2) years’ experience in an Electronic assembly environment or similar.
  • Good skills in reading and understanding assembly drawings and processes.
  • Ability to use a computer terminal and/or an MRP system (Oracle).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to read and interpret a Drawings, Instructions, and the Routers.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Familiar with IPC-A-610 Standards.
  • Lead / Lead Free Soldering Techniques.
Physical Demands:
  • Employee will be required to wear an Electrostatic Discharge device (ESD) while working with Electronic components.
  • Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 5 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 20 pounds.
  • Requires daily face-to-face interaction with employees, Line leaders on the production line.
Work Environment:
  • Employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled environment, with frequent exposure to electronic equipment.
  • Personal Protective equipment (PPE) is provided for all employees of Wabtec.
  • Gloves, Protective Glasses and Hearing protection is available.
