This candidate will participate in various Design-Build and/or CMAR preconstruction projects. The Electrical Estimator will participate regularly with the Preconstruction and Design Team during the preconstruction period. This individual must have the ability to deliver high-level detailed estimates at the initial project stage and efficiently function by reviewing design options, and recommending best solutions based on cost, methods of construction, market trends, etc. Qualified individuals will have Electrical Estimating experience with various types of construction projects.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform subcontractor scope evaluations and bid leveling
  • Review design options and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials
  • Prepare disciplined estimates by calculating complete takeoff and pricing of the electrical scope of work
  • Maintain historical cost information of the related scope of work
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction
  • Participates in design review meetings. Reviews and monitors scope, cost, and constructability during design development. Recommends best solutions based on cost, methods of construction, availability of materials, etc.
  • Solicit subcontractors and vendors for market pricing
  • Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in accredited construction-related curriculum plus 10 years of experience; or 8 years of Electrical Estimating experience in the construction industry
Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications Etc.:
  • Research experience is a plus with excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills
  • Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
  • Knowledge in the building design and/or construction industry preferred
  • Abilities to work independently, manage time wisely and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent sales and customer relationship skills
  • Strong computer skills (Accubid, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
