Electrical Estimator Jobs

As our Electrical (estimator) you will create estimates for electrical control systems in the material handling industry by providing pre-construction estimates. You will utilize your expertise in construction electrical design/build by developing the electrical systems design and referencing existing electrical designs. This might entail examining the electrical needs of a new material handling project or supplying design consultative services through cost-efficient engineering and safe effective design. You will be responsible to general contractors, system integrators, and construction firms who need your expertise for a variety of construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Experience using computer programs of a general office nature and those specific to electrical estimating.
• Experience in design/build by pulling together a preliminary design and estimate for conceptual projects from a design narrative and DD (Design Development) level drawings.
• Identifying the cost and time constraints.
• Identifying the risk involved in the project.
• Experience preparing the initial design and associated estimate in the bidding process and if successful transitioning the project to the Design Department.
• Act as a liaison between Sales and Operations.
• Perform other duties and complete other projects as may be requested or assigned.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, including the ability to explain clearly, listen to the feedback of dealers/end-users and relay this information to colleagues.
• Adhering to all the electrical rules and regulations.
• A proven history of effective communication with tradesmen, engineers, architects, and in-house peers.
• Determining the labor requirements for completing the project.
• Review special applications with the objective of securing sales while staying consistent with the goals of the company, including minimizing risk and maximizing the opportunity for profit by making efficient use of our technology and resources.
• Monitor/manage the status of priority orders.
• Research and document competitive information as it applies to inquiries and advising management of inquiry trends.
• Conceptualize written application specifications and translate them into recommended options and be able to communicate the recommendations clearly.
• Completing the project bids as per the guidelines.
• Fluency in the fundamentals of electrical design and estimating.
• Negotiating with the suppliers and vendors

Qualifications

• Sound organizational and time management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or minimum 3 years of licensed electrician experience.
• Must possess proficiency in ERP, Excel, and database applications.
• Must be comfortable working with and engaging customers.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Must be able to understand and interpret the blueprints.
• Must be knowledgeable in electrical design.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience estimating costs of custom machinery.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually.
• Must be well organized and possess teamwork skills.
• Strong technical and analytical skills are required. Ability to solve complex problems in an efficient manner.
