Join McKesson's Medical-Surgical Consumer Markets team as a Senior Digital Category Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and execution of the e-commerce product category strategies focused on revenue and margin growth for assigned product category portfolios. The Senior Digital Category Manager owns the P&L for their assigned categories and is expected to generate new business lines with current and potential vendors to achieve budgeted sales goals across Marketplaces, Pureplays/dotcoms, and Drop Ship or Retail National Accounts.


Responsibilities


  • Assess financial state, supplier performance, product mix, and market growth opportunities of categories to formulate an overall strategic category plan
  • Manage vendor/supplier relationships, add items to assortment, negotiate competitive terms and services that will accelerate
  • Develop and execute exit strategies for unsuccessful products
  • Clearly communicate category strategy within the consumer markets organization with the intent of driving prioritization & partnership with marketing, legal, inventory, pricing, operations & channel management on the execution of their tactical plans to deliver intended results


Minimum Requirements


  • 7+ years experience in category management, digital marketing / sales
  • 4+ years experience in eCommerce


Critical Skills


  • Devise long-term development strategies for product categories
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with manufacturers
  • Previous experience in vendor management, contract negotiations and service agreements.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills with a large variety of audiences
  • Liaise with marketing teams to determine the optimal marketing programs for their categories.
  • Ability to lead in multifunctional organization, to prioritize, and see-through execution of tactical plans to grow category
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and financial acumen
  • Ability to analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends
  • Ability to translate strategic vision into tactical plans and influence adoption of prescribed actions
  • Experience building assortment in the health care space.


Additional Knowledge & Skills


  • Strong interpersonal and influential skills
  • Presentation skills and Relationship Management
  • Strong MS Office skills include intermediate to advanced Excel
  • Leadership in a matrix organization with the ability to communicate ideas to stakeholders and senior decision-makers.
  • Experience selling on Amazon, Walmart, or large websites.


Education


4-year degree in business, finance, marketing, IT or related field, or equivalent experience

In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.


Our Base Pay Range for this position


$117,200 - $195,300
