We are looking to hire an exceptional Senior Regional Commercial Manager to look after Egypt and Levant. Successful candidate will have the responsibility for delivering market leading commercial performance and market share in conjunction with the Commercial and Operational teams in Egypt and Levant. The role is accountable for the development and execution of a commercial strategy and supporting tactics that achieves the revenue and market share targets of the Region over the short, medium and long term. This role leads and drives relentless focus on maximizing revenue and market share in all segments of business.
The primary purpose of this position is work alongside the Regional Commercial Director of Egypt, KSA and Levant to maximize total revenue across owned, managed, leased and JV hotels in Regional Egypt and Levant. The Senior Regional Commercial Manager will work alongside the Regional Commercial Director from a commercial, co-ordination and reporting perspective who alongside Sales, Marketing, eCommerce, RMCC and Operations counter-parts to complete the team that supports and leads these hotels. Additionally, the role will ensure that across these functions, a coordinated approach is taken to commercial planning and execution through the Commercial Focus structure.
The position will hold revenue budget responsibility of up to $284.2m and will have dotted line of responsibility to VP Operations, Regional EKSAL.
The role will act on behalf of the Regional Commercial Director – EKSAL in property visits, corporate & ownership meetings, budget & forecast reviews and training seminars as needed and will be an integral part of EKSAL Commercial Team.
What will you be doing?
  • Establishment and progression of Centers of Excellence/SWAT process within the Hotels to cover key areas of our business.
  • Translate organizational goals and priorities into performance standards for the Regional/On Property Commercial Teams
  • Establish and maintain close collaborative relationships among Commercial and Operational Leaders in support of the Regions Egypt & Levant and EKSAL Commercial strategy
  • Support EKSAL hotels openings from a commercial perspective to make full use of the Commercial Engines
  • The role will attend property visits, corporate & ownership meetings, budget & forecast reviews where necessary
  • Consistently demonstrate the capacity and desire to understand the key drivers of the Region and commercial performance across all internal functions and external factors
  • Develop and maintain a forward looking view of performance and establish a process for understanding and communicating future commercial risk and opportunity across the Region
  • Partner with the Egypt Country Manager and GM’s in Egypt & Levant and serve as the commercial leader of their business
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with senior personnel across the company.
  • Maintain excellent relationships and ensure coordination with Commercial Platforms in support of the Region including RMCC, ResMax, HWS, Hilton Direct, RM & Sales Solutions, DNA, etc.
  • Achieve or exceed mystery shopping, Reservations, Front Office to meet Balanced Scorecard targets.
  • Support Commercial Platforms by maintaining an understanding of key capability gaps and working with Commercial Platform owners on strategic plans to close those gaps
Setting Strategies
  • Lead and maintain a commercial planning and performance review process to manage and drive accountability for the Region’s commercial action plans. Leads strategic planning across the Egypt and Levant Commercial teams to advance the Region’s goals and maximize performance of all hotel
  • Responsible for the creation of short, medium & long term Commercial strategy and plan to deliver sustained above market revenue and market share performance across the Region
  • Maintain a regular cadence for communicating strategy and performance against our strategy and initiatives including future risk and opportunity to key Hilton leaders and On Property Teams
  • Gain buy-in and support for the relevant strategies and key initiatives required to deliver the strategy from key stakeholders
Executing for Results
  • Provide strategic commercial support and consultations to owners, 3rd party management companies and property commercial leaders, ensuring successful positioning of their hotels in their respective markets.
  • Provide training to other hotel team members on revenue management procedures, standards and principles, as needed. EG. Shine program.
  • Ensure that room’s statistics reports, and any other related reports are accurate and consistent for all hotels.
  • Deputize for Regional Commercial Director EKSAL as required.
  • Provide direct support to Egypt Senior Director operations and the EKSAL Area VP Operations as needed.
  • Ensure all Commercial initiatives are planned adequately and managed properly through to delivery
  • Contribute effectively in the EKSAL Regional Commercial Focus Meeting with above property sales support team(s) and revenue management teams in close collaboration with the respective Functional leaders and Operators/Hotels
  • Support EKSAL hotels openings in collaboration with Rev Mgt preopening teams, including rate binder, room types creation and Commercial Activation Tool (CAT)
