Senior Auditor Jobs

Accountable for completing areas assigned for various financial, operational, integrated SOX audits and ad-hoc projects at Risk and Control Department responsible for SPE’s global operations. Provides audit status to the Director and completed workpapers for review and sign-off.

Job Requirements:

• Manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously
• Identify key controls for the assigned areas and identify when there are control weaknesses (in the design or operating effectiveness of the control) or control gaps.
• Execute audit test plans (narrative, walkthrough, testing as applicable) for assigned areas effectively and timely and manage the audit team to ensure they are executing their test plan effectively and timely.
• Manage the completion of assigned areas for audits, SOX, and projects with minimal supervision.
• Responsible for the day-to-day management of teams/projects assigned to.
• Meet and discuss audit/project results with entity management.
• Assign audit areas to all team members in the audit (including the Manager).
• Assist Directors in developing the annual audit plan through a thorough risk assessment process
• Take responsibility in a leadership role on projects that impact the audit department.
• Prepare thorough and well-organized workpapers and provide to the Director’s review timely
• Demonstrate professional skepticism during audits and critical assessment of audit evidence.
• Develop less experienced team members by checking in with them periodically, providing feedback after audits.
• Identify issues or SOX deficiencies for the assigned areas.
• Responsible for the completion of engagement planning, including planning meetings with the Director and preparing test sheets that address the objectives and risks of the audit.
• Continuously update the Director about the status of the audits and discuss any on-going issues/roadblocks.
• Ensure timely completion of all projects/assignments

Experience Required:

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in audit or relevant experience
• Competency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
• Understanding of internal controls approach, SOX/COSO practices and US GAAP
• Experience with data analytics (and tools)

Preferred Skills:

• Media or Entertainment industry experience is also a plus
• Foreign language proficiency a plus
• SAP/ARIBA Knowledge/Experience

Education

• CPA, CIA or equivalent professional certification preferred
• BS/BA in Business, Accounting/Finance or related field

The anticipated base salary for this position is $94,500 to $155,900. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
