Security Supervisor Jobs

OVERVIEW:

As the Security Supervisor, you will work side-by-side with the other Security leaders to oversee the department and ensure the safety and security of the entire hotel property and related assets. You will patrol all areas of the hotel including front and back of house, monitor CCTV cameras and control access as required. You will also investigate reports of incidents and accidents involving associates or guests and interact with officials and agencies from local, state and national levels when necessary. To keep everything in order, you will prepare daily shift reports, complete accident and incident reports, maintain accurate records of events over the course of each shift as well as monitor and report found and recovered property. Using your excellent communication skills, you will assist leadership with the training, motivating and coaching of team members. Safety and security go hand-in-hand, so you will also attend training for hotel personnel in all areas of life safety equipment use and procedures and provide feedback and documentation on any unsafe work practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Gather information and complete reports.
• Comply with quality assurance standards.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships.
• Call for assistance using proper code responses. Provide proper paperwork to employees.
• Monitor Closed Circuit Televisions and alarm systems.
• Follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters).
• Assist guests/employees during emergency situations.
• Respond to accidents, contact EMS or administer first aid/CPR as required.
• Ensure compliance with alcoholic beverage control laws.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Authorize, monitor, and document access to secured areas.
• Assist management in training, motivating and coaching employees; serve as a role model and first point of contact of the Open Door Policy process.
• Conduct emergency response drills, daily physical hazard/safety inspections, investigations, interviews, and key control audit.
• Handle all interruptions and complaints.
• Follow company and department policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; wear nametag; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
• Defuse disturbances in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Patrol all areas of the property; secure rooms; assist guests with room access.
• Resolve safety hazard situations.
• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
• Maintain confidentiality of reports/documents, release information to authorized individuals.
• Have access to reliable transportation and follow attendance policy.
• Escort unwelcome persons from the property.

ADDITIONAL POSITION DUTIES:

• Assist in other areas as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Respond to any reasonable task assigned by Security Leadership.

OTHER:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled mandatory training sessions and meetings is required.

Employees who violate company rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
