Supervises and facilitates day-to-day Security Services department operations at Egleston, Scottish Rite, and Children’s Park campuses. Works within established guidelines, procedures, and protocol in a supervisory capacity to ensure comprehensive security services are being provided for all system employees, visitors, patients, and property. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Experience
4 years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or public relations in a supervisory capacity
Preferred Qualifications
Some college
Commercial driver's license
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification Summary
Valid Georgia driver’s license
International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety basic certification within 6 months of employment, advanced certification within 9 months of employment, and supervisor certification within 12 months of employment (external candidates)
International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety advanced certification upon consideration and supervisor certification within 3 months of promotion (internal candidates)

Job Responsibilities
Assists Security Manager in establishing and implementing policies and procedures for Security department.
Supervises utilization of personnel resources for effective and efficient services.
Supervises performance management process for Security department at assigned campus.
Assists departmental training office in implementation of professional development programs.
Reviews all security reports and other documentation and coordinates any needed support services in conjunction with department manager.
Posts at designated areas performance of assigned duties and completeness of reports of any unusual occurrences.
Serves as ambassador for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta by maintaining and ensuring proper grooming, dress, and appearance as outlined in departmental protocol.
Ensures 24-hour control center monitoring and coverage of duties, including alarm monitoring (e.g., fire, boiler, panic, code blue), making code announcements, and other services/emergency functions.
Intervenes in crisis situations and assists Division of Family and Children Services, Risk Management, Safety, Nursing, Administration, law enforcement, and social workers in the protection and safety of personnel, patients, visitors, and property.
Remains up-to-date on current security and professional issues through reading and self-study.
Ensures cleanliness and organization of assigned post and vehicles.
Ensures valet parking for board members, VIPs, patients, and others as needed and directed.
Provides guidance, training, and support to staff members.
Ensures escort availability to anyone requesting this service.
Manage the day to day operations of the staff, including but not limited to: work assignments, task management, time tracking/management, and on-the-job training.
Take an active role in coaching and mentoring the team to ensure continued employee growth and success both on the team and at the broader CHOA organization.
Assist manager with employee performance evaluations and hiring decisions.
