Overview

The Security Supervisor is responsible for assisting with security and loss prevention activities within the Distribution Center by supporting division objectives. Duties include, but not limited to, providing security services to managers and associates within the distribution center.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors including the facility, as well as drivers and sales representatives
• Conducting company shrink compliance audits in the distribution center and facilitating improvement of shrink results
• Develop and maintain a rapport with the various agencies as needed, coordinated investigations with internal or outside agencies
• Provide oversight and assistance in the management of third-party security services
• Fairly apply policies and rules, supporting work teams to ensure that security goals are met
• Responsible for loss prevention and shortage control programs, taking an active role in identifying all forms of loss, motivating shortage control involvement, and helping to identify shortage control solutions
• Develop a sense of Security awareness for all employees and continually achieve the security target set by the Security Department
• Identify items being returned on trucks to assist with accurate warehouse inventory management
• Assist the Director of Security in all aspects of Security operations to achieve the goals and objectives set.
• Execute security protocol according to proper procedures and instructions.
• Respond and act when/where for notifications/alarms
• Coordinate with supervisors and managers on security concerns and goals
• Provide security for the company warehouse, offices, and general assets against theft, vandalism, fire, and illegal entry
• Responsible for investigating reports of known or suspected internal and external theft, violence or the threat of violence or other criminal acts of an associate
• Communicate with Drivers and utilize SGWS computer databases to identify unaccounted for product using CCTV to relay location on truck as quickly as possible
• Ensure Business Continuity plans are reviewed, updated an adhered to.
• Provide additional presence on warehouse floor for security matters and support other warehouse supervisors
• Ability to adjust work hours based upon the needs of the Security Department
• Other job functions as assigned
• Monitor the tracking of product shortages and attempt to determine the root cause
• Communicate issues and information to employees, leads, and other Supervisors/Managers
• Plan and execute the daily security operations goals based on current needs
• Set performance expectations and coach to drive results
• Communicate and coordinate with security vendors; CCTV, Intrusion, Card Access, Guard Service
• Continually identify opportunities for improvement of security

Additional Primary Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Minimum of 6 years of prior law enforcement or security experience
• CCTV Cameras
• Strong face to face and written communication skills (must communicate effectively with employees, maintenance personnel, technical support personnel, management, and others)
• Strong desire to improve security and maintain high work standards.
• Microsoft Office
• Minimum 4 year college degree preferred

Physical Demands

• May require working at heights of 8 feet or greater
• Additional hours may be required during October, November, and December and other peak periods
• Physical demands include a considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
• Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
