Job Description
THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services (DHS), Norristown State Hospital, is looking for a hard-working individual to fill a full-time Security Officer I position.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Security Officer 1, you are responsible and accountable for maintaining a safe and secure hospital environment for the safety and security of patients, employees, students, and visitors of the hospital buildings and grounds. In addition, you conduct investigations concerning workplace violence, theft, and criminal activity.
Your job tasks are carried out under the supervision of the Security Supervisor, Security Chief, or in their absence, the Safety Manager.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • FREE PARKING!

  • May change based on operational needs.
  • Overtime: as needed.
  • Work hours are 4:00pm - midnight, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Works every other weekend.
  • Full-time employment, 40-hour work week.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • No previous experience or training required.
Necessary Special Requirements:
  • Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.
Other Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
