As a Security Officer 1 at Danville State Hospital, you will be responsible and accountable for the safety and security of patients, employees, students, and visitors of the hospital buildings and grounds. In order to maintain a safe and secure hospital environment, you will perform incidental custodial, maintenance duties and other related duties by following the supervisor’s instructions and/or circumstantial indications. You will also conduct investigations concerning workplace violence theft criminal activity.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Works every other weekend.
• The Department of Human Services provides excellent benefits, pay increases, paid leave and holidays, as well as opportunities for career advancement.
• Hours of work: multiple positions on 1st shift (8:00 am to 4:00 pm) and 2nd shift (4:00 pm to midnight); (2) 15 minute breaks.
  • Works every other weekend.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• No previous experience or training required. Must meet necessary special requirement.

• You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license.

• You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination.
• Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
