We are looking for passionate people with an interest in the space sector. Our client is willing to train the right candidates for success as a Satellite Operator. They are looking for someone who can grow with our organization and contribute to their mission of making the impossible possible. This is an in-person position located in Irvine, CA.
They are building a satellite-based service to provide the world with access to near-real-time imagery from space. Their synthetic aperture radar (SAR) instrument can capture images through clouds, darkness and other obscuring elements, making it more reliable for operational use than optical camera systems. By using modern engineering methodologies, they are able to develop SAR technology in a more compact and efficient form than before. In this way they are making SAR imaging accessible and affordable to any size of organization or business.
The Role:
- Support daily Payload Operations
- Monitor the satellite ground station network and support with pass scheduling/payload scheduling activities
- Support the documentation and development of Satellite Operations procedures
- Attend required and routine trainings and meetings
- Perform daily monitoring and commanding for the satellites and support TT&C ground network operations
- Work with Spacecraft Engineers in creating satellite commanding procedures and custom telemetry pages
- Create shift logs and aid in shift briefings
- Perform daily checks on spacecraft performance trends; create reports and aid in initial analysis findings
- Monitor all satellites for proper operations, respond to satellite and network alarms, and coordinate troubleshooting and maintenance activities
- Assist Engineers in spacecraft anomaly analysis and gather data to create and generate anomaly reports
- Execute commands and procedures (nominal and anomalous) on all satellites
Requirements:
- STEM Degree
- US Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance
- Must be able to work a rotating 8-hour shift schedule to provide 24x7x365 coverage including holidays, weekends, and nights
- An interest in space and a desire to learn about SAR/LEO Satellite Operations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
