Job Description

PumpSystems, a PumpMan Holdings company, is a leading provider of custom pump packages, pump system installations, maintenance, and repair services for the Mid-Atlantic region of the US. During our 60 plus years in business, PumpSystems has developed a complete line of pre-engineered packaged systems for condensate return systems, boiler feed units, constant speed pressure boosters, circulator pump sets, variable speed pumping packages, fuel oil modules, heat transfer systems, and specialty packaged pumping systems, as well as column and submersible sump and sewage packages.

Come and Grow with a Leader in the Industry PumpSystems has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Representative to join our team in Brooklyn, NY.

Responsibilities:

  • Recommends products and services to existing and potential customers.
  • Ensure company policies, safety policies, and work processes are followed and are in compliance.
  • Build great network/connection with buyers and willing to go an extra mile on the marketing front.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks as needed.
  • Business-to-business cold calling.
  • Grow the aftermarket and project bid/specification sales in the Metro NYC area commercial markets.
  • Assists in the training, coaching and development of others as needed.
  • Develop a firm knowledge of the PumpMan strategy and philosophy for long term growth.
  • Follow-up on incoming sales leads.
  • Proactively establishes positive working relationships with entire team, demonstrates 'excellence' through positive behavior, flexibility, and effective communication skills.
  • Prospecting on local businesses and new construction projects.
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with customers, providing ongoing sales support and handling service issues.
  • Develop a firm knowledge of the product and services.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Highly responsive to customer requirements, responding promptly to queries and to customer changes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Great connection with potential buyers in the area.
  • A fundamental understanding of pricing, forecasting, cost management and other financial tools used in help driving a successful profit center.
  • Strong hands-on leadership experience with a proven sales track record.
  • Excellent Networking Capabilities.
  • 1-3 Years experience in Commercial and Industrial Sales experience serving the building and construction trades.

Preferred:

  • Candidates with pump, valve, or rotating equipment sales or engineering experience.
  • Must be flexible in dealing quickly with conflicting priorities; being a team player, willing to give additional effort when required to meet customer-based deadlines.
  • Strong interest in successfully interacting with customers in a sales/customer facing role.
  • Commercially astute and able to understand sales strategy.
  • Prepared to be 'hands-on' and eager to learn and develop professionally.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and a history of successful performance in a team environment as well as working independently.
