Director of Sales
Adams Publishing Group of Southern Wisconsin is actively searching for a dynamic Director of Sales for our Hometown Group which consists of nine weeklies and one daily in the Madison area. The successful candidate will have 3 offices to choose from to be based out of, Sun Prairie WI, Waunakee WI, or Lake Mills WI. All are in a beautiful area of the state with easy access to Madison and Milwaukee.
The right candidate will have a strong understanding of digital marketing services and a track record of success. They will also need to understand traditional advertising through printed products. Strong leadership is a must with the ability to develop, train and mentor sales staff. Active engagement in the communities we serve is also required.
Major Responsibilities:
· Consistent mentoring and training of the sales staff to develop their professionalism and skill set
· for the media industry.
· Four legged calls with MMAEs.
· Ensure that the outside reps meet their goals which include the following:
· Make two presentations per week.
· Develop 3,6 and 12-month proposals.
· Ensure pipeline management is developed and maintained.
· Ensure weekly one on one meetings are held with sales to assist in driving new revenue.
· Ensure MMAEs attain their individual and team sales goals.
Ensure all reporting is completed on time.
· Drive digital revenue growth.
· Professionally and ethically represent the company.
· As part of the management team, engage in idea development that drives revenue, reduces
· expenses or creates efficiencies.
· Other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
Experience:five years in management leading sales team.
Competencies/Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as rate cards, marketing materials and industry related articles. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages and plan and execute yearly revenue budget. Ability to read and understand profit and loss statements. Computer skills such Word, Excel and Power Point are required. The ability to multi-task and occasionally work an irregular schedule. Must have a valid driver’s license with reasonable transportation and insurance.
