This role will be responsible for leading and managing a Worker's Compensation Program that handles claims occurring in the organization. They will be accountable for recordkeeping, effective claims management, and reporting; ultimately resulting in effectively reducing risks, increasing safety awareness, and managing costs. This position will require working closely with the Regional and Base Managers to ensure timely management of claims and relaying information to the Corporate Head Office.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for leading and managing a Worker's Compensation Program that handles claims occurring in the GAT system
• Ensure the appropriate handling and management of Worker's Comp claims by obtaining information and maintaining accurate records
• Manages and oversees Workers' Compensation claims processing and procedures • Plans and leads claim reviews
• Recommends appropriate action within company guidelines, insurance policy, and/or state/federal law to facilitate claims resolution
• Track, analyze, and report on loss runs and key claim statistics, including the development of Goals and KPIs to drive claim and cost reduction
• Partner with HR for return to work, leave status, restrictions, wage history, and all relevant Work Comp required activities
• Negotiate and Settle claims according to best practices in conjunction with assigned adjusters
• Partners with internal stakeholders and other support departments to deliver exceptional client service
• Ensures compliance with required regulatory reporting
• Monitor legislation, as it relates to health and safety standards and practices, and facilitate changes while updating as required
Qualifications:
• 3+ years Work Comp claims experience
• Proficient in PC based applications; Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Safety management system experience preferred

• Willingness to work weekends and evenings as required, and be on-call 24/7 when necessary
• Proven experience in the implementation of standardized health and safety policies, procedures and programs preferred

o Motivate staff to meet associated goals as required for effective safe day to day operations
o Deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally
o Work co-operatively between key management personnel and co-workers to achieve company goals and maintain operations
o Prepare for and respond to unforeseen changes/challenges related to safety and operations performance as it pertains to date to day operations
o Successfully multitask and handle changing priorities
o Work well under pressure and meet set deadlines
o Consistently demonstrate a safety focused mindset
