Job Description

We provide emergency and crisis intervention, emergency shelter, counseling, and support services to domestic and sexual violence victims. We are seeking a full-time Residential Case Manager to join our team. The Residential Case Manager primarily works the second shift with shelter residents who have experienced domestic violence and occasionally works with survivors of sexual assault residing in the shelter. Candidates should be able to work a flexible schedule and participate in covering open shifts when necessary. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in social work or related human services field, with some related experience with crisis intervention, group facilitation, and working in a residential/shelter setting, be non-judgmental, and demonstrate excellent decision-making abilities.

Specific Duties:


  • Maintain ongoing, positive communication and collaborative efforts within the community
  • Facilitate residential support groups
  • Compile, maintain, and report statistical data as required and necessary
  • Provide crisis intervention and support services for adult victims of domestic and sexual violence
  • Answer crisis phone lines
  • Assist families in acclimating to residential living.
  • Provide advocacy and education as related to the service plan
  • Assist clients in applying for Crime Victims Compensation
  • Attend training to increase knowledge and skills
  • Participate as a member of client-related committees and meetings
  • Develop individualized service plans
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of client records

Requirements


Requirements:


  • Experience in residential services preferred
  • The successful candidate must pass a pre-employment background screening and drug testing
  • Knowledge and experience with family dynamics, domestic violence, and sexual assault issues preferred
  • Able and willing to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
  • Able to climb stairs
  • Able to safely operate agency equipment and machines
  • Ability to be non-judgmental and work with a diverse population,
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in social work or associated field, with some related work experience
  • Able and willing to travel
  • Crisis intervention skills
  • Able to lift 20 pounds on occasion
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Group facilitation skills
