Focusing on regulatory mechanism of lung fibrosis and lung regeneration, Dr. Tan's lab is leveraging novel mouse models, lung organoids and next-generation sequencing as tools to understand cell-cell interactions in lung fibrosis and homeostasis. His long-terms goals are to reprogram the fate of diseased cells during fibrosis using CRISPR activation and small-molecule therapeutics, leading to the development of novel regenerative therapies. We are seeking a motivated and intelligent research assistant (lab technician), who can assist with a variety of projects in the area of fibrosis and aging research. The successful candidate will be under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and conduct experiments with guidance.
Responsibilities
- Works under supervision and may perform some projects independently as discussed and approved by Principal Investigators
- Perform laboratory management duties including inventories management, sample organizing, safety, etc.
- Presents at research laboratory meetings and contributes to writing of manuscripts
- Sets up and performs routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals, grant commitments
- Performs basic statistical data analysis; prepares tables/charts/graphs and assists in organizing data
Focus of Job Responsibilities
70% – Ongoing Research
Performing research experiments in support of lab goals, grant commitments.
15% – Analysis & Review
Analysis and review of generated data and reviewing previously reported scientific literature.
15% – Lab Management
Related to lab protocols, animal inventory, lab supply order, etc.
