Research Fellow - Physiology And Biomedical Engineering

Responsibilities
The Schafer Lab is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to participate in NIH-funded brain aging and cellular senescence research. Candidates should have an interest in exploring the identity of senescent cells and the mechanisms by which they influence brain health and function in the context of aging and disease. Individuals with experience in neuroscience, immunology, or cellular and molecular biology are encouraged to apply. Established experience in any of the following domains is highly desirable: transgenic mouse model experimentation, imaging and microscopy, cell culture, cytometry, single cell sequencing, high-throughput proteomics, and/or bioinformatics analyses. Candidates should have a strong work ethic and good oral and written communication skills. A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
