The School of Pharmacy is looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to serve as a member of the Pharmaceutical Sciences team. We desire an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. What You Need To Know


Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education:


  • Appropriate PhD


Preferred Education:


  • Doctoral degree in cellular/molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, microbiology, physiology, pharmacology, or any closely related field is preferred.


Preferred Experience:


  • The applicant is expected to know animal handling techniques.
  • Experience working with diverse individuals and communities.
  • The applicant should be able to interpret and analyze data, compile results, prepare reports, and present their conclusions.
  • The candidate should be able to maintain cell cultures, conduct research using a variety of molecular biology techniques.


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Expertise in handling primary and secondary cell cultures is preferred.
  • Experience in animal handling and surgical techniques are preferred.


Responsibilities:


  • Administrative Duties - Assists with planning, developing, coordinating research projects. Overseas research equipment in the lab. Comply with all state and university policies. Demonstrates skills with Microsoft office software, Graphpad prism, Endnote etc and is able to learn and use institutional software systems. General duties such as purchasing supplies and maintaining a safe working environment, as well as performing other duties as assigned.
  • Research - Conducts molecular biology experiments using techniques like Real-Time PCR, transfection experiments (miRNA and siRNA), flow cytometry, Immunoblotting, IP and confocal microscopy. Designs and executes research experiments and analyzes results. Uses statistical methods and relational databases to analyze data. Provides written reports (including abstracts & manuscripts for publications) of research findings and literature search, as/when requested. Assists in grant writing as needed. Assist in managing the breeding and genotyping of animal colonies. Train students conducting laboratory experiments.
