Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Research Assistant – Per Diem in Psychiatry- Division of Addiction Services in the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Research Assistant will assist with the implementation of research projects in addictions and mental health, with a focus on recruiting, consenting and interviewing research subjects. Subjects may include, but are not limited to, people with opioid and other substance use disorders.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Assist with database management; literature searches; communication with the IRB office.
• Conduct participant interviews and other data collection.
• Accurately and comprehensively document all contact with participants.
• Recruit and enroll participants in research studies at substance abuse treatment facilities throughout the state of NJ.
• Attend project-specific training and research project meetings.
• Track and schedule research participant appointments.
• Perform various research procedures relative to the ongoing research protocols.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant science.

Certifications/Licenses

• Must have valid driver’s license and car.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Public Health, Social Work or Counseling.
• Experience working in substance abuse treatment or substance abuse research.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. No special vision requirements. Must be able to lift or exert up to 25 pounds.
