(Research Assistant) (Part-Time 20 Hours Per Week)

The position is currently funded until October 31, 2024. Funding for this position beyond October 31, 2024 is subject to approval.

The primary focus of this position is to input, upload and manage all necessary data in the Criminal Mental Health Project data systems in order to maintain accurate information that can be utilized for reports that measure effectiveness and efficiencies including performance outcomes and grant reporting. The position will include attending assigned court proceedings to gather and record necessary information on program participants, inputting and uploading data into the data system, preparing reports and auditing participant files to ensure quality standards are maintained.

Must be available to work 20 hours per week from Monday - Thursday from 9:00AM – 2:00PM.

This position is eligible for a hybrid remote work/onsite schedule as outlined by existing Circuit policies and procedures.

Working Conditions:

Moderate noise; business office setting.

Physical Demands:

Work involves a significant amount of standing, walking, sitting, typing, talking, listening, stooping, and reaching with hands and arms; must be able to transfer up to 10 pounds.

Qualifications:

• One (1) year of professional experience in research and data compilation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Public Health, Mental Health Counseling or related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

• Ability to utilize a computer and software, such as Microsoft Office Suites, to include but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, zoom, Internet Explorer, etc.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to maintain complex records.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Detail-oriented and goal-oriented.
• Knowledge of issues related to criminal justice, community mental health, case management and community resources.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with co-workers, the judiciary, court administration, and other agencies.
• Must be proficient in utilizing Excel spreadsheets for calculations, to create graphs, pivot tables and other applications as necessary.
• Prior research or clinical experience with adults with mental illness preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Performs related work as directed.
• Must be responsible for effective time management and submission of required reports/documentation.

• Audits information as directed to ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Must be able to learn and utilize Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS).
