Job Description

The research assistant/research technician will provide key project support to the Crane Center Executive Director, Associate Director/s, and other leaders as needed in relation to ongoing contracted research project work. This work includes ongoing literacy research conducted by the Crane Center as well as analyses related to state child care subsidy programs.

The research technician will assist project directors/PIs in the implementation of project activities to support the day-today progress towards project deliverables. They will participate in project activities such as:
  • Creation of tracking materials and systems to ensure completion of deliverables;
  • Support to investigators and other key project staff for research, reports, presentations, and publications;
  • Use of databases and data compilation and basic analysis related to project goals and deliverables;
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Logistics related to scheduling meetings including with external stakeholders;
  • Thorough documentation and archiving of project materials;
  • Creation of monthly progress reports and other key reporting deliverables and writeups;
  • Coordination among project teams and communication up to PIs, directors, and project leaders and stakeholders;
  • Participation in meetings with project teams and external stakeholders;
  • Participation in research tasks including analysis, evaluation, and writing, with oversight from project staff and PIs;

Required: Bachelor’s degree. Strong written and oral communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Zoom. Ability to work independently as well as part of a high-functioning team. FBI/BCI check required prior to beginning position.
Desired: Experience with early childhood education. Experience with research tasks and project management. Experience in social science research or evaluation.
