Research Computing supports basic, translational, and clinical research by providing researchers with access to digital tools and technologies. Our computing environment consists of high-performance computing clusters, virtual machines, PetaByte-scale high-performance storage, and cloud platforms. We work with BCH scientists to develop solutions in support of cutting-edge research ranging from lattice light-sheet microscopy to CryoEM, genomics, and informatics.
The Clinical Research support group within Research Computing maintains numerous applications which support the clinical trials . The team designs and develops new applications in line with the needs of the research community and invents tools to enable team members. The group also supports data requests, some of the platforms used are HoundDog, REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) , Openclinica.
The Research Analyst I will be primarily responsible for:
- Delivering a high level of customer service as per agreed-upon metrics.
- Providing technical guidance to employees, colleagues and customers
- Managing BCH REDCap by providing routine as well as leading-edge support to our research community and IT in support of clinical research; with minimal supervision and direction
- Delivering technical solutions that meet user needs in the required timeframe, prioritizing effectively for assigned scope of work
- Applying acquired expertise to analyze and solve technical problems without clear precedent
In order to qualify you must have:
- Work requires the analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems or design relatively complex systems and programs that cross department/divisional lines.
- Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Clinical research experience preferred
- Excellent problem solving, project management and communication skills. Ability to gather requirements, design and implement secure systems. History of successfully delivering projects end-to-end, through the entire life-cycle.
- Knowledge of scripting and/or programming languages.
- Previous experience providing user support in a clinical research environment desired.
- A positive attitude and ability to develop productive relationships with researchers and members of the Information Services Department.
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related field.
