Description
Position Overview
The Reporting Manager is responsible for managing the activities of external financial reporting, technical accounting research, tax compliance and tax provision calculation for Genting Americas East. Responsible for creating and adhering to applicable key controls. Participates in formulating management financial policy and safeguards assets.
Essential Functions
  • Coordinate the Compiling of “provided by client” support for the consolidated and statutory audits and review processes conducted by external auditors and verify that all requested information is complete and accurate prior to submission.
  • Safeguards assets and adhere to the Company’s Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure efficient, accurate, and timely production of consolidated and statutory financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Ensure compliance with key controls in the financial areas of responsibility.
  • Manage and coordinate state and federal corporate tax compliance filings with external tax preparers.
  • Support overall department goals and objectives
  • Assist with preparation of reports and presentations for Board of Directors and Audit Committee meetings.
  • Develops policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure efficiency and proper controls.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provision calculation.
  • Work with and support the accounting team in day-to-day activities, special projects, and workflow process improvements.
  • Manage the consolidated and statutory audit and review process conducted by external auditors and ensure all requests are completed timely and all necessary support is provided.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
  • Works closely with corporate finance to ensure compliance with terms of all loan agreements.
  • Ensures effective recruitment, hiring, training, recognition, coaching and counseling and other personnel related matters are being handled appropriately throughout assigned departments.
  • Ensure footnote disclosures in audited financial statements are accurately populated with supporting documentation.
  • Facilitates and ensures that performance reviews of all employees within department are complete on a yearly basis.
  • Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, provide US GAAP interpretation and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner.

Essential Requirements
  • Possess the necessary communication skills in both verbal and written aspects to properly relay corporate inquiry relative to financial planning and record keeping.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with staff.
  • Ability to access and input information into a computer.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Knowledge/Work Experience
  • Strong technical US GAAP and IFRS accounting knowledge.
  • Knowledge of US and state tax regulations and laws.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate license through the New York State Gaming Commission.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in an accounting/financial management area with three (3) years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Relevant management and accounting experience, gaming accounting preferred.
  • BA/BS in Accounting or related field; CPA designation or MBA preferred.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • SAP knowledge preferred.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other Team Members or guests. Fluency in English required. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability:
Ability to compute mathematical calculations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to decipher various reports and maintains reports upon request with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least fifteen (15) pounds, and prolonged sitting during the shift.

The noise level in the work environment varies. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke. Must be able to handle intoxicated guests in a professional manner.
